Balangir: A brother-sister duo was killed after the bike they were travelling by was hit by a truck at Mahipur Chhak on Deogaon-Tusura road here on Tuesday.
The deceased have been identified as Mantu Benia and Sanju Benia of Pangunia village under Muribahal in the same district.
The victim duo was en-route to Deogaon in some work this morning when the driver of a rice-laden truck which was travelling in the opposite direction lost control over the wheels and ended up hitting them from the front at Mahipur Chhak.
While both the victims died on the spot following the crash, irate locals staged a road blockade on the Deogaon-Tusura road demanding compensation for the kin of the deceased.
Police reached the spot immediately and sent the body for autopsy after pacifying the mob.
