Bronze statue of Dr. Samanta’s mother unveiled on her 1st death anniversary
Kishannagar: A bronze statue of late Neelima Rani Samanta, mother of Dr. Achyuta Samanta, founder of KITT and KISS, was unveiled on her first death anniversary at Kalarabanka in Kishannagar block of Cuttack district on Sunday.
Hundreds of dignitaries, including the staff of KIIT, KISS and Kalinga TV along with people from the neighbouring villages and Panchayat gathered at Kalarabanka, a smart village which was her initiative, to observe Neelima’s first Shraddh Barshiki (Death Anniversary). All of them paid floral tributes at her bronze statue which was unveiled today.
On the first death anniversary of his beloved mother, the proud son (Dr. Achyuta Samanta) paid his humble yet loving tribute in a Facebook post.
“MAA! Mother is mother and there is no replacement, being the most important relation for the children. For me, it’s even more as I lost my father at the age of 4. She has been my everything. She had a life full of struggle after becoming a widow at 40, bringing up seven siblings without any financial support. She left for heavenly abode last year, to meet God and bless me more,” said Dr. Samanta on his Facebook page.
