Jharsuguda: Candidates of Biju Janata Dal (BJD), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress filed their nomination papers for the ensuing by-poll in Brajarajnagar Assembly Constituency. The trio filed their nomination papers at Jharsuguda Sub-Collector’s office today, the last date to file the nomination paper.
BJD’s Alaka Mohanty, who is the wife of late MLA Kishore Kumar Mohanty, marched to the Sub-Collector’s office in a huge rally with her supporters, party leaders and worker and filed her nomination in presence of Ministers Susanta Singh, Padmanabha Behera, Tukuni Sahu, Naba Kishore Das and others.
Likewise, BJP candidate Radharani Panda and Congress’ Kishore Chandra Patel accompanied by their party leaders and supporters filed their nomination papers.
Voting for the Brajarajnagar by-poll will be held on May 31. The counting of votes will take place on June 3 and the entire election process will be completed by June 5.
It is to be noted here that the bypoll was necessitated following the demise of sitting BJD MLA from Brajrajnagar on December 30, 2021 due to cardiac arrest.
