Khallikote: A class VII student died at the Bania UGME School under Khallikote police limits in Ganjam district when a portion of the boundary wall of the school collapsed on him after being rammed by a tractor.
The deceased has been identified as Balmiki Gouda of Bania village.
The incident took place this morning soon after school hours began. The victim child was reportedly standing near the school entrance when a tractor engaged on some construction work inside the campus unwittingly hit the gate pillar. The pillar caved in with a thud immediately and fell on Balmiki leaving him critical.
The victim was rushed to the Khallikote Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
Police has filed a case of unnatural death in the incident.
