Cuttack: Tension prevailed at Bhubanananda Orissa School of Engineering (BOSE) here today after hundreds of students resorted to a protest at its campus protesting unavailability of food in the hostel canteen.
The agitating students locked up the main gate of the college and sat on ‘dharna’ before it alleging poor infrastructure at the hostel of the institution. The claimed improper power connectivity and water supply to the hostel are hampering their studies.
The students who took part in the protest claimed that substandard food is being provided to them at the college canteen and repeated complaint to the authorities in the regard have fallen on deaf ears.
While the college authorities have deployed ample number of police forces inside the campus, they are also preparing to have a dialogue with the students.
