Bookings for direct flight from Bhubaneswar to Bangkok to start today
Direct flight services from Bhubaneswar to Bangkok, Singapore to start from June 3, 2023. Odisha CM to launch ticket sales start today.
Bhubaneswar: The ticket booking for direct flight service from Bhubaneswar to Bangkok, Singapore is slated to start from today, said reliable reports.
Reports say that IndiGo airlines will operate direct flights from Bhubaneswar to Bangkok and Singapore will start from June 3, 2023. The Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, will inaugurate the sale of tickets today.
The airline has provided the schedule to the Biju Patnaik International Airport here for two flights a week to each destination.
It is worth mentioning that, the international terminal building at the airport is currently undergoing renovations. The infrastructure will be upgraded to manage the international air traffic.
The old luggage conveyor belt will also be replaced soon. But, for now the old one will be used. Furthermore it is to be noted that, the immigration and customs facilities are already in place.
Odisha is expected to greatly benefit from these direct international flights. A boost is expected in the tourism and business sector. Further, the Odisha government has agreed to bear the costs of unsold tickets, with total ticket cost is estimated to be around Rs 120 crore per year.
Earlier on Utkal Diwas that is April 1, 2023, the Chief Minister had launched the ticket sale for the direct flight to Dubai from Bhubaneswar. The maiden international flight from Bhubaneswar to Dubai will take off from Biju Patnaik International Airport on the 15th of May.
“Connectivity is key to development and it has been a focus area of our government,” said the Chief Minister.
“Direct connectivity with Dubai which is one of the biggest aviation hubs will open up a direct gateway to the world. Not only it will provide seamless connectivity but also it will have a huge multiplier effect on investment in Odisha in sectors like IT, manufacturing and tourism. This is the aspiration of New Odisha and I am very happy to open ticket sales for the Dubai Flight”, the CM had further added.
