Bonded Labourers Rescued At Rayagada Railway Station

Rayagada: 27 bonded labourers, including 25 women, were rescued from Rayagada Railway Station on Saturday.

As per reports, they were being taken to Andhra Pradesh and Kerala when a joint team of RPF and GRP rescued them from Tirupati – Bilaspur Express at Rayagada. Among the women rescued, two are minor girls.

The Police has also detained five middlemen in connection with the matter.

Rayagada GRP head informed that the rescued labourers, who hail from Rayagada and Kandhamal districts, have been handed over to the Labour department.
