Dhenkanal: At least two persons sustained critical injuries after a SUV they were travelling in overturned after being hit by a speeding car at Dangapala under Kankadahada police limits in the morning today.
The critically injured duo has been identified as Amarendra Singh (28) and driver Jeetendra Sahu (26).
The mishap took place at around 5 am in the morning while Amarendra was on his way to Telkoi from Birasal boarding a Mahindra Bolero bearing registration number OR 06 G 8064. A speeding Tata Indica car which was coming from the opposite direction and en-route to Kamakhyanagar from Kankadahada smacked into the SUV causing it to overturn.
While both the vehicles involved in the accident got badly mangled in the crash Amarendra and Jeetendra sustained critical injuries due to overturn of the Bolero.
Local police reached the spot later in the morning and rescued the injured duo trapped inside the Bolero to send them to Kankadahada Hospital for treatment.
Both the vehicles have been seized by police and an investigation is currently underway.
