Balangir: Mystery shrouds the death of the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) Balangir unit president Sushant Mishra, whose body was found hanging at his house this morning under suspicious circumstances.
Sushant, a resident of Balangir town was on a visit to his ancestral house located in Biramunda village under Sadar Police Station area for past few days when the incident took place. Some neighbours of the deceased spotted his body hanging from the ceiling early in the morning and called up police following which the death came to light.
After reaching the spot and conducting the preliminary investigation police suspected it to be a case of murder, as the feet of the deceased was found submerged in a large size cooking vessel and touching the ground inside it. Sushant’s scooter was also found parked outside the house with a bottle of alcohol lying near it, pointing at a possible foul play.
Sushant’s body has been rushed for autopsy and police are waiting for the report to decide on the next course of action in the case.
