Keonjhar: The dead body of a minor girl was recovered in Keonjhar district of Odisha on Saturday. She was missing since October 20. The body was recovered from a garden in Haladiaguna village under Sadar Thana limits.
As per reports, the child had gone to see Jhumar dance along with her family members on October 20 that had been arranged on the occasion of Gajalaxmi puja. She was missing since then.
Today, the nude body of the girl was recovered from a garden at the end of the village. Police also seized her dress that was lying near the body. It has been suspected that the minor girl was raped and then killed. Accordingly, tension gripped the area following recovery of the body while the villagers have sought justice in the matter.
In another case, in the same district, earlier on September 18, the body of a woman had been recovered from a locked house in Rupa Sahi of Bileipada village under Joda police limits. Husband of the deceased woman had been detained by Police in this connection.
