Dhenkanal: Body of one of the passengers who had gone missing in river Brahmani following capsizing of a boat near Kundandeipur Ghat under Parjang block on Dhenkanal two days ago was found today from Pani Gengutia embankment.
The deceased has been identified as Biswajit Acharya of Kundandeipur area.
Some locals spotted Acharya’s body floating in the river water near Pani Gengutia this morning and called up ODRAF and fire officials engaged on rescue operation to report. Later the body was rescued and sent for autopsy.
Notably, the boat carrying at least nine persons had sunk in the middle of the river due to strong current on September 7. While, five persons succeeded in reaching the shore by swimming, rest four including Biswajit remained missing since then.
Efforts are on to trace Sushant Sahoo, Bijay Nayak and Ramesh Sahoo who are still missing.
