Boat stuck in middle of Chilika Lake, over 50 stranded passengers rescued

Khurda: More than 50 passengers who were stranded in the middle of the Chilika Lake following a technical glitch in the boat that was ferrying them, were rescued on Friday.

According to reports, a boat with the passengers and 20 motorcycles was going towards the Satapada from Janhikuda ghat at around 12.45 PM today. However, after covering a distance of around 500 metres it got stuck 200-300 metres off Janhikuda.

The Motor Boat Association reportedly sent another boat to the spot after getting information and rescued the stranded passengers safely.
