Bhubaneswar: In order to make sanitation a citizen driven approach and to have a behaviour change among the residents, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has started promoting barrel composting.
A team of BMC senior officers along with the team of experts has started the initiative today. The team members started visiting senior state-level officers’ residences and oriented them on barrel composting.
The team demonstrated the officers placing barrel, EM Solution and water. The team today visited residences of seven officers and shared educative colour leaflets during orientation.
“The initiative will be promoted among the citizens to make the city sanitation participatory. We will also start a massive awareness drive in the city in this regard,” said Deputy Commissioner (sanitation), Suvendu Sahoo.
