BMC Forms Squads For Verification Of Functioning Of Kalyan Mandaps In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: An in house meeting was organised by Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) today to streamline unauthorised Kalyan Mandaps / marriage halls in Bhubaneswar. The meeting was chaired by Additional commissioner-1 Surath Chandra Mallick.

Three squads have been formed in three zones under the guidance of concerned Zonal Deputy Commissioner. Each squad is comprised of concerned Assistant Engineer, Ward Supervisor, Ward Officer, Amin, enforcement staff of BDA and planning staff of BMC and BDA.

The squads formed will start its verification in their concerned zone from November 22 and finish its verification to submit report on November 25.  The Squad will also make visit to adjacent area of BMC and BDA. The report will come through ZDC where the squad will recommend the action to be taken.

Additional Commissioner, Enforcement, BDA will supervise the movement and entire exercise. “BMC has empowered the concerned staffs to finish this stipulated activity for a better service to the citizen and to streamline the unauthorized activities of Kalyan mandaps/ marriage halls inside Bhubaneswar and mandaps  adjacent to the city area causing mass problem to the city,” said a BMC official.
