BJP’s Satyabadi MLA candidate to be nabbed soon

Puri: The District police have started the process to issue lookout circular against Om Prakash Mishra, the BJP candidate for Satyabadi assembly constituency in Puri district of Odisha for allegedly smashing EVMs in a polling booth on April 23 when polling was underway. Mishra, an accused in the complaint lodged by the presiding officer of the booth is at large and yet to be nabbed.

Police said that the lookout circular will be issued to deter Mishra from leaving the country. “We have also constituted several squads to nab the accused. We are hopeful of arresting him soon,” said a police official. Two of his associates involved in this case have been arrested so far.

As per reports Mishra had barged into the booth accompanied by around 20 supporters and had allegedly manhandled the polling officials. It has also been alleged that one of the supporters of Mishra had also opened fire in the booth to terrorise the polling officials.
