BJP delegates urge DGP to take action against SDPO and Talcher IIC Bhubaneswar: A delegation of Odisha BJP on Monday urged Odisha DGP KB Singh to take action against the local SDPO and Talcher IIC in Angul district for failing to act against hooligans of the ruling party.

The team, led-by Odisha BJP Vice President Samir Mohanty, met the top cop of Odisha and informed that the ruling party is creating serious law and order problem causing grievous hurt to a large number of people of Bharatpur area in Talcher. The BJD workers attack others in the presence of the local police, who remain mute spectators.

They also submitted a memorandum to Singh which read “Anchalika Thika Mazdoor Sangh, Talcher is under Bharatiya Mazdoor Sanga and genuinely raises demands for the welfare of the workmen. The rival Union headed by Local MLA Braja Kishore Pradhan is a minority Union and always creates law and order problem by hiring goons and attacks the Union leaders of Anchalika Thika Mazdoor Sangh and its members.”

The saffron party team claimed that some miscreants, with the involvement of local SDPO and IIC, Talcher, attacked the general secretaries of the union Bijaya Kumar Samal, Pradeep Nath, Sanjay Pradhan and others on Sunday injuring them severely.

“We, therefore, urge upon you to take appropriate action and immediately take action against SDPO and IIC, Talcher to maintain peace and tranquility or else situation will be serious,” added the memorandum.

All the injured have been admitted to APPOLLO Hospital in Bhubaneswar.
