Khurda: BJP Mandal chief Manguli Jena was killed after being shot by two bike-borne miscreants on late Sunday night near district BJP office in Nabinabag area. Jena was also former Sarpanch of Badapokharia.
Agitated BJP workers have been protesting in front of Khurda Town police station with demand for swift action against the culprits.
Police forces have deployed in the area to bring the situation under control. The police are conducting a detailed investigation and have not ruled out political rivalry or previous enmity as possible causes behind the deadly attack.
Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has strongly criticised this dastardly act and has urged BJP workers to maintain decorum and cooperate with local police.
