Mayurbhanj: In a brutal incident, a bjp leader was allegedly thrashed to death by some unidentified miscreants at Nuasahi area under Kaptipada police limits in Mayurbhanj district last night.
The deceased has been identified as Ranjit Pradhan, in charge of Bharatiya Janta Yuva Morcha (BJYM) of Balasore district.
Sources said, Ranjit was parking his car from one side of the road to other side outside his in-laws house, when four unidentified miscreants travelling on two different motorcycles came and started attacking him by dragging him out of the car and leaving him critically injured and fled from the scene.
On hearing some sounds, family members of Ranjit went outside and found him lying unconscious, they immediately rescued him and rushed him to Udala Sub-divisional Hospital where he was declared dead by the doctor.
Kaptipada Police have detained the three persons in this connection while further investigation was underway.
