BJP Election Committee meet to decide candidates for Odisha & other states

Bhubaneswar: Odisha BJP, somehow, is not able to finalise its candidate list for upcoming elections. The Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) is scheduled to have another Central Election Committee Meeting in New Delhi on Wednesday. The meeting is to decide candidates for Odisha, Uttar Ptadesh, West Bengal, Karnataka and ten other states.

The BJP had an Election Committee meeting yesterday too which was chaired by PM Narendra Modi, BJP national president Amit Shah and other committee members. While BJD and Congress have already declared the candidate list for the first and second phase of upcoming elections in Odisha starting from April 11, BJP is yet to do so.

The probable candidates of Odisha BJP now have their eyes on the selection committee’s decision on whether they get the tickets for their constituencies or not. We will have to wait and watch whether the ruling party gives tickets to its old loyals or new joinees.

It is important to note here that the last date to file nominations for the first phase of elections is March 25.
