BJP blocks road in Jharsuguda, demands immediate repairing

Jharsuguda: Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) carried out a protest and blocked the road connecting Jharsuguda SP’s office and District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) today in demand of its repairing to prevent accidents from occurring.

Vehicular movement was badly affected and heavy vehicles including trailer trucks remained stranded on both sides of the road due to the protest which started in the morning.

“Though the road connecting the SP’s office and the DHH plays a major role in traffic movement in Jharsuguda town the administration is having an apathetic attitude towards its maintenance. After developing cracks and pores at a number of places the road has turned a death trap for commuters and we demand its repairing,” Informed Dinesh Jain, a senior BJP leader from the area.

“We also appeal the government to start repairing of the road within seven days without further delay as the stretch of it up to Ultratech Chhak is in an extremely bad condition. Plying of heavy vehicles including goods carrier should also be banned on the route,” Jain added.

Jharsuguda Sub Collector and SDPO have reached the spot and are trying to pacify the protestors to restore traffic flow in the route.
