Kendrapara: Adding more leaders to the BJP fold in the state, former Rajanagar MLA Alekh Kumar Jena and Congress leader from Mahakalpada, Bijay Kumar Pradhan would join the saffron party at ‘Misran Parv’ at Pattamundai here today.
The function which will be attended by Union petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan is also expected to witness the induction of hundreds of supporters of both the new joiners.
Ahead of his induction to BJP, Jena said the ruling BJD has shattered all his hopes with which he had once joined the party almost a decade ago.
“Several leaders had joined BJD during its inception during super cyclone in 1999 being attracted by its agenda of good governance, justice to women and a clean party image and I was not an exception. But as the party’s clean image has been tarnished now and people have started rejecting it, I have decided to quit too. My supporters are with me in the move,” said Jena.
Around 30,000 people are expected at the joining event which would also witness a bike rally, informed Kendrapara BJP unit.
