Bhubaneswar: While talking to reporters today, Odisha Food & Civil Supplies Minister Surjya Narayan Patro made a boastful claim that his party (BJD) would win 123 out of 147 seats in 2019 assembly polls.
“It was Biju Babu who led us win 123 seats in 1990. And, we are confident of repeating the same feat in 2019,” Patro said.
Earlier, BJP President Amit Shah had expressed confidence that BJP would win 120 seats in the next assembly polls. Even Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had claimed the same, drawing heavy criticism from the BJD as well as the intelligentsia.
Surjya Patro’s claim of winning 123 seats, has drawn similar responses in public. Even many BJD sympathisers on social media pooh-poohed his boastful remark and said BJD could win an absolute majority, but not what Patro claims.
