BJD to hold protest against fuel price hike in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal will hold a protest against the rising fuel price in Odisha. The party has targeted Center for the continuous hike in fuel prices which results in increase LPG gas cylinder and other essential commodities that has affected lives of middle class family.

According to reports, the party has said that even though the Covid cases has declined recently, Central Government has not taken any step to improve this situation regarding rising fuel prices. The Centre has failed in the field of financial management. “Is this the development of country that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been taking about?” questioned BJD.

BJD will hold a protest against the fuel prices in view of difficulty that the general people have been facing, added reports. The fuel prices have increased by 30% in last two years due to which the transportation facility of general people have been affected.

The Biju Janata Dal will hold a protest against the rising fuel price in front of Raj Bhavan, Bhubaneswar tomorrow and give a memorandum to the Governor.

It is to be noted that on November 1, the women’s organization will protest in 147 constituencies due to the increase in gas prices whereas from November 5 to 7 the youth will protest in front of all oil tankers in the State.

It is pertinent to mention that the petrol and diesel prices have continued to witness a constant hike for the last few days in capital city Bhubaneswar.

The petrol price in Bhubaneswar has almost reached Rs 110 mark today. The cost of petrol has been recorded at Rs 109.96 per litre while the diesel price has been recorded at Rs 106.60 per litre on Saturday. The cost of petrol and the diesel has increased by 25 paisa and 28 paisa respectively in the last 24 hours.
