Bhubaneswar: BJD’s Rajya Sabha MP Amar Patnaik was today elected as a member of the statutory body of AIIMS, Bhubaneswar.
The development came a day after BJP’s Rajya Sabha member Ashwini Vaishnav withdrew from the contest.
The BJD MP, the former principal accountant general (AG) is also the general secretary of the BJD Parliamentary Party office in the Rajya Sabha.
AIIMS Bhubaneswar is one of the apex healthcare Institutes established by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojna (PMSSY).
It was established as autonomous institution and institute of National importance through the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (Amendment) Ordinance.
