Bhubaneswar: BJD Mahila Morcha on Tuesday announced to hold a public awareness programme at village-level across the state.
Addressing a press meet here this evening, BJD MLA Pramila Mallick said that the women wing of the state ruling party will hold a public awareness programme between September 24 and 30 to make the women of the state aware about the initiatives taken by the BJD government for their development.
“Women SHGs get loan at 1 percent. This benefits 3 lakh women of the state. Besides, the women also get health assistance of Rs 7 lakh under Biju Swasthya Kalyana Yojana. The state government is working for the empowerment of the women. Which should be informed to every women at village-level,” she added.
Handloom, Textiles and Handicrafts Minister Snehangini Chhuria targeted Union government saying “It has become a stumbling stone for Odisha government as it is neglecting to give the Special Category Status to the state. We will make the people aware about the fact in every village of the state.”
