BJD leader Jasobanta Parida murder: 8 including 2 prime accused arrested

Dhenkanal: In a major development in the murder case probe of Dhenkanal Youth BJD president Jasobanta Parida, Odisha Police today arrested eight persons including two prime accused. While two of them, the prime accused, hi were arrested from the Northeast India, six others were nabbed from Talcher in Angul district. This was informed by Dhenkanal SP Santosh Naik.

While informing about the arrest of the accused, Naik said that Jasobanta was killed over suspected business rivalry on March 26. A group of four Bolero-borne assailants followed his Tata Indigo car for few minutes before hurling at least eight bombs targeting it between Kamakhyanagar Post Office and Gandhi Temple stretch of road on the day of the incident. After the vehicle got badly damaged in the attack and Jasobanta alighted it in a bid to escape, the miscreants killed him on the spot by firing five rounds of bullets.

Later, Senior BJD leaders like Prafulla Mallick and Nrusingha Sahu met Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and demanded thorough probe in the case.
