Bizzare! Bride calls off marriage after groom fails to hire wedding photographer

A bride in Uttar Pradesh reportedly called off her marriage after she found out that the groom failed to hire a photographer for the wedding.

The bride, daughter of a farmer from a village in Kanpur’s Dehat district was to tie the knot with a man of Bhognipur area. Preparations were almost complete with the stage fully decorated and made ready for the ‘Jaimala’ (Garland exchange) ceremony when the baraat (wedding procession) arrived.

The groom was welcomed by the bride’s family and the pair headed to the stage for the ceremony. It was then that the bride realized the absence of the photographer at the venue. Upon knowing that the groom had not hired a photographer/videographer, the bride refused to take part in the ceremony and left for her neighbor’s house.

According to the recent report, the family members tried multiple times to convince the bride but all in vain. she also made a statement saying, “The man who did not care about our marriage today, how is he going to take care of me in the future?”

The matter then went to Mangalpur police station. According to sub inspector Dori Lal, the matter was sorted between both the families mutually. Both the parties mutually decided on returning all the money and valuables exchanged. The inspector in a statement said, “Both the parties returned the goods and cash given to each other. After this, the groom returned without a bride. There was a dispute over a photographer and videographer not arranged by the groom’s side due to which the girl got angry and refused to marry.”
