Bishnu Panigrahi joins KIMS

Bhubaneswar: Dr. Bishnu Panigrahi, a pioneering medical practitioner, has joined Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Prior to this assignment, he served as Group Head, Medical Strategy and Operations, Fortis Healthcare.

For more than 6 years, Dr. Panigrahi spearheaded medical operations at Fortis. While Heading Medical Operations at Fortis was actively involved with Prof Michael Porter from Harvard Business School in developing the Standard Sets for Coronary Artery Disease(CAD) for International Consortium for Health Outcomes Measurements(ICHOM). Fortis has been publishing their Clinical Outcomes.

He also helped put in place a robust Medical Assurance Process across the network.

Earlier, Dr. Panigrahi was a part of three major health care service providers in India, namely, Indraprastha Apollo, Fortis and Max, in all from inception.

After serving 25 years in corporate healthcare, he decided to go back to Odisha. It was during 12 years of teaching at his Alma Mater in Cuttack that he got the opportunity to enhance his skills and work in Cardiac Anesthesia and Intensive Care at Dunedin Hospital, OTAGO University in New Zealand. However, in spite of being offered a rewarding career in New Zealand, he decided to come back and serve his country.

Now he has come back to his roots and wants to be socially relevant and help KIMS to grow, as a Value Based Healthcare Provider.
