Angul: A 10 year old boy was killed on his birthday along with his mother in a road mishap in front of Angul Government High School this afternoon.
The deceased have been identified as Subham Sahu and his mother Kavita Sahu (35). As per reports, the son mother duo along with one of their relatives had been to a local temple and was returning to Balipata on a scooty when a truck hit the scooty from behind.
Police said that the Subham and Kavita died on the spot while the injured has been admitted to the nearest hospital.
Tension prevailed in the area after the incident as irate mob blocked the National Highway 55 demanding adequate compensation for the victims. Adequate police personnel have been deployed at the spot to prevent any further untoward incident.
