Bird Census Begins In Odisha From Today

Bhubaneswar: The annual bird census in various wetlands of Odisha started from today. A large number of teams have been  employed for counting the avian guests in Odisha.

The forest department conducted surveys across various water bodies in Simlipal, Baripada, Rairangpur, Karanjia and Balasore.

This survey is done to assess the exact number of winged guests in the region winter.

The counting of the birds started at 5.30am today, around 45-50 varieties have been identified informed one of the teams.

The survey teams has been provided with binoculars, boats and other equipment required for the census.
