Bijepur BDO detained by vigilance over carrying Rs 3.51 lakh unaccounted cash in Odisha

Sonepur: Odisha Vigilance on Sunday detained Bijepur BDO Padmanabha Samantaray for allegedly carrying Rs 3.51 lakh unaccounted cash in a car at Binika in Bargarh district.

According to reports, the anti-corruption agency sleuths intercepted the car at Binika around 6 am when the official was heading towards Bhubaneswar from Bijepur.

On searching the vehicle, the Vigilance officers found Rs 3.51 lakh cash, which the BDO couldn’t account for satisfactorily. He was then taken to the Vigilance Office, Sonepur for questioning.

His houses in Bargarh, Puri and Bhubaneswar were being searched by the Vigilance.
