Bihar CM Nitish Kumar to visit Odisha today: To Meet Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik

Bhubaneswar: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is set to visit Odisha today that is on Tuesday. He will meet his counterpart Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at his abode in Bhubaneswar. The two CMs will discuss a range of political issues as well as a road ahead to 2024 Lok Sabha polls is on the agenda, reports said.

According to schedule, Nitish will reach Bhubaneswar by 11am in the morning and will head to Navin Nivas to meet the Odisha CM.He will stay in the Naveen Nivas from 12pm to 3pm and will have lunch with CM Naveen Patnaik during his stay. Nitish will return to Patna after staying at Naveen’s residence from 12:00 to 3:00.

Though the motive behind Nitish Kumar’s visit is not clear yet, speculations are rife that discussion on the formation of United Front may be a topic between the two leaders during their meeting.

This comes as the Biju Janata Dal (BJD), which has been maintaining distance from both BJP and Congress, has always remained nutral and avoided tilting either towards the NDA or evolving non-BJP alliance so far.

Senior BJD Leader Debi Prasad Mishra said that Naveen is frontline leader in country. It is a courtesy call and that it should not be politicize.

Earlier in April, Nitish Kumar had announced that he would travel across the country to unite opposition parties. He has been meeting various party leaders after the announcement.

On April 11, he met Congress president Mallikarjun Khadge and party leader Rahul Gandhi. On April 26, also met West Bengal Chief Minister and Trunamula Congress chief Mamata Banerjee and Samajbadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav. Nitish Kumar is in touch with several opposition party leaders over the phone as well.

Chef Minister Naveen had invited both Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee and Nitish to Odisha in December last year to witness the World Cup Hockey 2023.
