Big Announcement About Aadhaar Card Number And Bank Account! Know The Details
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman asked banks to ensure that by March 31, 2021, all accounts are linked to the Aadhaar Number of customers. Sitharaman while addressing the 73rd Annual General Meeting of the Indian Banks Association (IBA) said that the process of financial inclusion is not over yet and banks will have to take it further.
While speaking on the occasion, she said, “There are still a lot of people who don’t have a bank account and when I say a bank account, it means an ‘Aadhaar linked’ account. Simply put, Sitharaman told the banks that there are many accounts which are not linked to Aadhaar, which are very important to be linked. Sitharaman said that banks should ensure that they are using technology to avoid any kind of flaws.
She also said that banks should encourage digital payments and discourage payments made through other means. The minister also told the banks that Rupees cadres in banks should be promoted more than any other card.
