Bibhu Prasad Routray sworn in as Orissa High Court Judge

Cuttack: Judicial officer Bibhu Prasad Routray was sworn in as a Judge of Orissa High Court here on Friday.  Chief Justice of the High Court, Justice HC KS Jhaveri administered the oath of office to him at 2 PM.

With this, the number Orissa High Court Judges went up to 15. The court has a sanctioned strength of 27 Judges.

With their appointment, the number of Orissa High Court judges went up to 14.

On Thursday, a notification issued by the Department of Justice under the Union Ministry of Law and Justice said the President of India has appointed Routray as a Judge of the High Court from the date he assumes charge.

On October 3, Supreme Court Collegium recommended the appointments of judicial officer Bibhu Prasad Routray and Advocate Sanjeeb Kumar Panigrahi as judges of the Orissa High Court.
