Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, a youth reportedly committed suicide by hanging himself with a saree from the ceiling of the house in Bhubaneswar on Sunday.
The youth identified as 22-year-old Jagannath Mallick of Adarsha Slum had asked some money from his parents. However, his parents did not give him money.
Jagannath reiterated his demand for money today. When his father, who works as a daily labourer, denied him to give any money as he did not have, Jagannath went into one of the rooms and hanged himself after locking the door from inside.
Jagannath’s mother who saw him hanging through the window raised an alarm following which some neighbours went to rescue him.
Jagannath was soon rushed to the Capital Hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, doctors declared him brought dead.
Chandrasekhar Police started an investigation into the matter.
