Bhubaneswar: The Unit 1 wholesale vegetable market in Bhubaneswar will be shifted to the outskirts of the State Capital City. This was informed by the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).
According to BMC, Unit 1 wholesale vegetable market will be shifted to the new Haat at Bhagabanpur along the National Highway 16. A meeting in this regard was held today between the officials of the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation and the Housing and Urban Development Department.
The decision to shift the wholesale vegetable market from Unit 1 has been taken with an aim to check traffic congestion in the Unit 1 area of the City.
Sources said that the new location, spanning 10 acres, will have cold storage facility and ample space for loading and unloading goods.
