Bhubaneswar to get its Free Wi-Fi service from today

Bhubaneswar: Putting first step to become a ‘Smart City’ the state capital Bhubaneswar will witness the launch of the free Wi-Fi service for the denizens today.

Scheduled to be inaugurated by CM Naveen Patnaik, works for the service has been completed on fast track mode keeping in view the upcoming men’s hockey world cup which will kick off at Kalinga Stadium here from November 28.

The free Wi-Fi service will initially be available at as many as 75 strategic locations with nearly 100 access points. Later the access points will be extended to 500 Wi-Fi spots and each spot will cater to the needs of at least 150 users. With a usage limit of 250 MB data at a speed upto 2 Mbps each user will be allowed for 30 minutes to use the Wi-Fi service, says reports.

The free Wi-Fi service will be available between Sishu Bhawan Chhak and Vani Vihar Chhak, Nalco Square and Acharya Vihar, KIIT Square and Raj Bhawan, Acharya Vihar and AG Chhak, Sishu Bhawan Chhak and Vani Vihar Chhak in the first phrase.
