Bhubaneswar: In today’s development in connection with the death case of Surekha Palei whose body was found from Tarini Basti in Bharatpur, three accused including a minor and her alleged boyfriend have been arrested.
Reportedly, Bharatpur police had initiated a manhunt and arrested them from Nayagarh. The deceased woman’s alleged boyfriend has been identified as Biswajit Jena.
Till the last reports came in, it has been learnt that the Surekha was not murdered rather she had committed suicide on the fateful night.
The police has informed that the three accused had escaped to Nayagarh after destroying all the evidence from the spot.
It has also been alleged that there was an one-sided love affair between Surekha and Biswajit. Due to this, a heated argument took place between the two on that night.
Thereafter when everybody went to sleep after the feast, Surekha committed suicide by hanging by a rope at Biswajit’s house.
It is worthwhile to mention that Commissionerate Police had seized two mobile phones from near Surekha’s body.
