Bhubaneswar records more than 1500 Covid-19 positive cases for second consecutive day

Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar logs 1532 covid-19 positive cases on January 22. The capital city of Odisha recorded more than 1500 Covid positive cases for second consecutive day. On the other hand, Cuttack city reported 348 new Covid-19 cases today. The rapidly rising Covid-19 positive cases in Twin City remain a concern for the administration.

According to reports by Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), out of the total 1532 positive cases registered today, 48 cases are quarantine cases while 1484 cases are local contact cases.

With today’s development the total Covid-19 positive cases have increased to 1,42,244. The recovered cases are 1,29,958. The total deceased cases are 1109. At present, the active Covid-19 cases in Bhubaneswar stand at 11,156.

In the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC area) 348 new Covid-19 cases were registered. While 49 cases were Institutional quarantine cases, 153 cases were home quarantine cases. As many as 146 local contact cases were recorded today.

The total cases in CMC are 53,216 while the recovered cases are 48,987. Active cases today are 3800 while the deaths are 429.

The recovered cases in BMC and CMC on January 21 are 1314 and 601 respectively.

Odisha on Saturday reported 8,845 fresh cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, informed the Information and Public Relations (I&PR) Department.

With the new 8,845 positive cases including 2528 cases from Khordha have been detected in the last 24 hours followed by Sundergarh at 1001 and Cuttack at 628 cases.

The total cases include 927 in the 0-18 years age group have been found, informed the Information and Public Relations (I&PR) Department.
