Bhubaneswar records 1360 Covid-19 positive cases on January 17, Cuttack records 474 cases

Bhubaneswar: Covid-19 cases in Odisha’s capital city Bhubaneswar are 1360 on January 17. On the other hand, Cuttack city reported 474 new Covid-19 cases today. The rapidly rising Covid-19 positive cases in Twin City remain a concern for the administration.

According to reports by Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), out of the total 1360 positive cases registered today, 47 cases are quarantine cases while 1313 cases are local contact cases.

With today’s development the total Covid-19 positive cases have increased to 1,34,896. The recovered cases are 1,24,980. The total deceased cases are 1105. At present, the active Covid-19 cases in Bhubaneswar stand at 8790.

In the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC area) 474 new Covid-19 cases were registered. While 69 cases were Institutional quarantine cases, 184 cases were home quarantine cases. As many as 221 local contact cases were recorded today.

The total cases in CMC are 50,999 while the recovered cases are 46,484. Active cases today are 4086 while the deaths are 429.

The recovered cases in BMC and CMC on January 17 are 688 and 227 respectively.

Odisha has reported over 10,000 covid-19 positive cases in the ongoing third wave.

The state on Monday reported a spike in Covid cases with 10,489 positive cases including 2934 cases from Khordha have been detected in the last 24 hours.

The total cases include 982 in the 0-18 years age group have been found, informed the Information and Public Relations (I&PR) Department.

The positivity rate stands at 14.95%.
