Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar–Cuttack Police Commissionerate on Sunday arrested as many as five persons and forwarded them to the court for their involvement in the murderous attack on two brothers who had reportedly killed another person recently.
The arrested persons have been identified as Prasant Das, Akshaya Kumar Das, Badal Kumar Kanhar, Srikant Das and Prakash Naik, said sources adding that they have been arrested based on the footages of the incident.
Three different cases have been filed against them under the Section of 147/341/294/323/427/332/307/506/149 of IPC 3 of PDPP Act.
It is to be noted here that a group of people including these five accused persons waylaid a PCR Van yesterday at CRP Square in Bhubaneswar, damaged it, and beat up two brothers Sagar and Sudhir mercilessly for killing one Tukuna Das day before yesterday.
Meanwhile, the siblings also have been forwarded to the court, said the source.
Further investigation into the matter is underway, added the sources.
