Bhubaneswar: In the case of the mother-daughter attack in Bhubaneswar, the Commissionerate police has detained the alleged accused on Wednesday.
The said accused has been identified as Rupesh Panda. The accused was detained a after he was discharged from hospital. He is being interrogated by police.
It is noteworthy that, the woman-daughter duo had been allegedly attacked on Nov 1 (Monday) with a knife in broad daylight afternoon in Sailashree Vihar area under Chandrasekharpur police limits in Bhubaneswar.
Reportedly, the accused youth resides in the neighborhood and was disguised as a woman while entering the house of the victims.
From the preliminary investigation, it is being suspected that the attack is due to a quarrel between two families.
The attacker has also sustained injuries in the attack, added reports.
On getting the information, Chandrasekharpur Police have reached the spot and initiated an investigation into the matter.
