Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police arrested MCA girl student Ashrita Senapati’s boyfriend, Satyaprakash Das. She was found hanging inside her rented room in Acharya Vihar of Bhubaneswar.
Reportedly, the cops arrested Satyaprakash Das for allegedly abetting Ashrita’s suicide. He will be forwarded to the court today. Das works in an IT company.
The deceased MCA student Ashrita had blamed Satyaprakash for her extreme step in her suicide note which was recovered from her room. In the note, she had mentioned that Das thrashed her after a heated argument as he suspected that she was cheating him with another youth. Following this incident, Ashrita took the extreme step to end her life the same day.
It has been learnt that the couple belonged to the same village under Bhadrak’s Tihidi block. They have been in a relationship since 2014. Ashrita had also mentioned in her suicide note that she was suffering from depression due to such incidents.
Notably, Ashrita was found hanging inside her rented room in Acharya Vihar area on July 4. The police have launched a probe in connection with the case after recovering the body of the deceased.
