Bhubaneswar Covid-19 positive cases cross 1000 on January 13, Cuttack records 646 cases

Bhubaneswar: Covid-19 cases in Odisha’s capital city crossed the 1000 mark today. As on January 13, Bhubaneswar recorded 1005 positive cases while Cuttack city  reported 646 new Covid-19 cases.

According to reports by Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), out of the total 1055 positive cases registered today, 54 cases are quarantine cases while 1001 cases are local contact cases.

With today’s development, the total Covid-19 positive cases have increased to 1,29,834. The recovered cases are 1,23,158. The total deceased cases are 1103. At present, the active Covid-19 cases in Bhubaneswar stand at 5552.

In the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC area) 646 new Covid-19 cases were registered. While 88 cases were Institutional quarantine cases, 250 cases were home quarantine cases. As many as 308 local contact cases were recorded today.

The total cases in CMC are 48,819 while the recovered cases are 45,727. Active cases today are 2663 while the deaths are 429.

The recovered cases in BMC and CMC on January 13 are 125 and 65 respectively.

Odisha on Wednesday reported a huge spike in Covid cases with 10,059 positive cases including 3,188 from Khordha have been detected in the last 24 hours.

The total cases include 872 in the 0-18 years age group have been found, informed the Information and Public Relations (I&PR) Department.

Among the 10,059 positives, 5833 are quarantine cases and 4226 are local contacts. There are a total of 44,349 active cases. The new recoveries stand at 949. The positivity rate stands at 12.40%.
