Bhubaneswar Becomes Hottest Place In India At 39.2 Degree Celsius

Bhubaneswar: On Friday, Bhubaneswar emerged as the hottest place in the country after mercury shot up to 39.2 degree Celsius. As many as 10 places in the state recorded day temperature of 35 degree Celsius plus.

The India Meteorological Department said the city has earlier recorded a temperature of 36 degree Celsius on 20th February 2017 whereas, on 25th February 2018, the average day temperature of Bhubaneswar was 38 degree Celsius. The IMD further informed that Friday was the hottest February day in Bhubaneswar this year.

It is being said that the greenhouse effect and significantly lower wind speed are responsible for the sudden rise in temperature in the capital.

The mean temperature in Bhubaneswar is expected to touch the 40-degree Celsius mark on Saturday. The heat is expected to reduce after February 25, after which the sky will remain partly cloudy. The temperature during this period is being expected to reduce by 6-7 degree Celsius.

In Bhubaneswar, the hot conditions will intensify after March 3 with thundershowers occurring sparingly.
