Cuttack: Unidentified miscreants allegedly kidnapped a Bhubaneswar based businessman from Nemala Mutt in Cuttack district this afternoon.
The businessman identified as Subhendu Mohanty had been to the Mutt along with his wife and two children.
Eyewitnesses said that three unidentified people were roaming near the Mutt for around two hours before the abduction. “As soon as he got out of the Mutt they forcefully kidnapped him in a car. Though a number of people were present on the spot no one dared to prevent the miscreants,” said an eyewitness.
The wife of the victim later lodged a complaint with the Nemala police station. “He has his own construction company. He never told me having any enmity in recent past. I don’t have any idea about the motive behind his kidnap,’ said Monahty’s wife.
