Bhubaneswar Airport Introduces Free Pick-Up & Drop Policy

Bhubaneswar: A new parking policy has been introduced at the Biju Patnaik International Airport here, with effect from April 8, 2019. According to the new rules, private and commercial vehicles for pick-up and drop at departure and arrival areas of the airport have been exempted of charges.

However, an access fee of Rs. 40 will be levied on all commercial vehicles at the airport, except the ones carrying an AAI license. Government-owned vehicles will be allowed to enter the airport premises free of cost.

Furthermore, a parking fee will be charged from all the vehicles entering the parking lot at the airport. A fee of Rs 10 will be collected from two-wheeler for up to 30 minutes, Rs 15 for up to 2 hours, Rs 5 per hour extra up to seven hours and Rs 45 for up to 24 hours.

Similarly, Rs 20 will be charged for car parking up to 30 minutes, Rs 55 for up to 2 hours, Rs 10 extra per hour up to seven hours and Rs 165 for up to 24 hours.

Vehicles like tempo, SUV and minibus will be charged Rs 20 for up to 30 minutes, Rs 60 for up to 2 hours, Rs 10 extra per hour up to seven hours and Rs 180 for up to 24 hours.

Heavy vehicles like a coach, bus and truck will be charged Rs 30 for up to 30 minutes, Rs 70 up to 2 hours, Rs 10 extra per hour up to seven hours and Rs 210 for up to 24 hours.

The airport authorities have also specified that vehicles parked in the entry lanes or any area other than parking lot will have to pay a penalty.
