Sambalpur: A female bear and her cub died after an unknown vehicle hit them on Erundibahal Keshara road under Rairakhol forest division in Sambalpur on Saturday.
Sources said, an unknown vehicle hit the duo while they were crossing the road in the early hours of the morning.
The deceased bears are estimated to be aged about 20 years and 2.5 years respectively.
The forest officials rushed to the spot and seized the bodies for post-mortem.
