Bargarh: With new political equations emerging in Bargarh district ahead of the Bijepur by poll, Barpali NAC chairmperson Meena Seth and vice chairman Pradyumna Tripathy announced today that they would soon join the BJD.
The Congress leader duo would be formally inducted into BJD by party president Naveen Patnaik at a special function held at Naveen Niwas in Bhubaneswar tomorrow. Along with the chairman and vice chairman, a few ward members of the Barpali NAC would also join the ruling party tomorrow.
The ward members who would join the BJD are Achyutananda Panda, Sukhi Behera, Aswini Parida, Gayatri Rout, Rebati Bhoi and Babita Rana.
Tripathy’s joining BJD is exepected to benefit the party immensely as, apart from being the Bargarh district Youth Congress general secretary and a popular leader in the region, he happens to be a protege of late Subal Sahoo, the former Bijepur MLA.
