Bhubaneswar: The iconic Barabati Stadium in Cuttack of Odisha is likely to host a T20 match between India and South Africa in June 2022. This was informed by Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) secretary Sanjay Behera.
While speaking about the development, Behera said that a discussion regarding the T20 match between India and South Africa at Barabati stadium is being held with Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Sourav Ganguly.
The T20 match between India and South Africa will be played in presence of the audience if the COVID pandemic situation is normal and is under control, Behera added.
It is to be noted here that the BCCI had earlier said that the Barabati Stadium would host a T20I match between India and the West Indies on February 15 in 2022. However, later it changed its decision.
According to reports, Barabati stadium had conducted the last international cricket match on December 22, 2019.
